You may have already seen us on the news, social media etc. encouraging Bonorong supporters to create their own ‘Wild Ride’ to raise money for wildlife in our care. The funds raised will help run Bonorong’s critical wildlife services, which are under increasing pressure as they see more and more injured animals each year.

Bonorong operates Tasmania’s largest 24-hour wildlife rescue service. The service provides care and rehabilitation to thousands of animals injured or orphaned on our roads. More than 500,000 animals are killed on Tasmanian roads every year, that’s nearly one every minute, every day, 365 days a year!

Bonorong also runs Tasmania’s first dedicated Wildlife Hospital and has an on-site rehabilitation facility that sees thousands of wildlife patients each year. Our teams are getting busier with each passing year and we need support to keep going!

So what is Bonorong's Wild Ride?

Wild Ride can be anything you like! It could be an endurance challenge or something silly, with your work mates, friends, or family, or just you. Anyone can take part and in any way you like. Your ride, your way!

Your Wild Ride could involve running, riding a bike, scooter, a skateboard, roller skates, hopping on a pogo stick, even wearing a costume while you’re doing your Wild Ride! Do a team challenge like a relay race or cycling challenge - anything you like to do could be made into a Wild Ride for yourself or your team, get creative!

Wild Ride will take place throughout March 2025, meaning you can do your Wild Ride when it suits you. Ride a bike or a scooter every day for the whole month, or just ride on a particular day of March.

What you can do:

- Create your own Wild Ride and begin fundraising! - Your ride can be anything you want it to be. Visit our website for more information.

- Form a fundraising team and complete a challenge to fundraise together! This could be just you and a friend, or it could be your whole workplace. It could even be a sports team or club or your family!

- Share our social media posts with your online community.

- Put a poster up at your business or community location - simply send us an email and we will organise to have one sent to you!

- Your ideas are welcome too!
