Animal Sponsorship
An annual sponsorship of just $50 ensures that we can continue to provide the high level of ongoing care & enrichment that we strive to give all the animals in our care. This includes our long term residents, as well as the thousands of injured & orphaned wildlife that come in through our 24-hour Wildlife Rescue Service each year in need of treatment & a little extra love.
Whether you are purchasing an animal sponsorship for yourself or as a gift, you will be able to rest in the knowledge that you are directly helping to improve the lives of our little island state’s wonderful and unique wildlife.
While you will choose a specific species to sponsor (Tasmanian devil, wombat or Forester kangaroo), the funds received will be used in the care of all the animals that live at the Sanctuary, as well as those that require treatment through our rescue service. This includes supporting the running of our Wildlife Rescue hospital.
In an effort to be kind to the environment, all our sponsorships are paperless. Sponsorship packs will be emailed directly to you within 48 hours of purchase.
All sponsors will receive:
Welcome email
Sponsorship certificate
Species fact sheet
Limited edition photo
Subscription to the Bonorong newsletter

Tasmanian devil
Listed as endangered, the Tasmanian devil has had to fight disease, being hunted, and the constant threat of becoming roadkill to survive. With the population still in decline, the fight isn’t over for these beautiful, shy and misunderstood creatures.
Wombat
Most of the wombats that come through Bonorong’s gates do so as orphans of roadkill. While at Bonorong, they are showered with love and attention (it’s a hard life!) until they are old enough and ready to return to the wild where they belong.
Forester Kangaroo
With just a few isolated populations left in Tasmania, the Forester kangaroo population has declined dramatically (by over 85%!) since European settlement. Our population at Bonorong is made up of cheeky joeys, attentive mothers and majestic males, all of whom are always keen for a good scratch on the chest!
