For just $30 per person, you could get up close and personal with one of your favourite animals. Groups are kept small to ensure everyone has enough time.
To book, simply choose your favourite animal from the list above, and the corresponding morning or afternoon time slot. We can guarantee encounters booked online with at least 48 hours notice.
If you've left your planning til the last minute we're happy to see what we can do - just send us an email or give us a call. Bookings may be made on the day by enquiring at the Bonorong shop but availability cannot be guaranteed.
All encounters are subject to availability, terms and conditions. Please contact us if you have any questions before booking.
Please note - Animal Encounters do not include your general admission fee - this is to be paid on arrival at the Sanctuary, or can be purchased online here.
The not-so fine print (Terms & Conditions)
Bonorong may choose to cancel specific encounters due to severe inclement weather or animal welfare issues. If an encounter is cancelled, or if for any reason the animal is not available during the encounter, participants will be offered an alternative encounter or a full refund.
The admission fee to the Sanctuary is not included in the encounter fee.
All participants must agree to follow instructions given by the keeper.
All interactions will be instigated by the animal.
Participants will not be able to hold animals, but where appropriate will be able to pat them under supervision of the keeper.
Bonorong does not guarantee that participants will be able to feed the animals, but where appropriate this may be offered by the keeper.
A paying adult must accompany children under 6 years of age. Children over 6 years may be accompanied by a non-paying adult, who can observe from outside the enclosure.
Parents or adult guardians must take responsibility for participating children at all times.
Participants may be asked to leave the enclosure at any time during the encounters at the discretion of staff.
All care to ensure the safety of participants will be taken, but Bonorong does not take responsibility for any injuries. Where needed, first aid or medical assistance will be arranged.
Guests must be aware they may be photographed during experiences for media and marketing purposes.
Cancellation policy
We are an outdoor all-weather venue and in the event of inclement weather tours will proceed. In the event that you cancel your tour the following conditions apply:
Bookings cancelled at least 2 days prior to the event date will be given a full refund.
Bookings cancelled within 2 days of the event date will not be refunded.
No-shows or arrivals after the experience has finished will not be refunded.
Participants may decide to leave a tour early however no refund will be offered.

“Did you know?”
Echidnas have torpor cycles where they go in to semi-hibernation. While this is generally in autumn and winter, it can also occur on colder than average days.
For this reason we cannot guarantee your encounter will go ahead until you arrive.
If the echindas are not active, we will happily offer you an encounter with a different animal or provide a full refund.
